mustard button-up

{dress: H&M (similar style here) blazer: H&M (similar style here) shoes: Kandee (similar style here) necklace: H&M}

This dress is reminiscent of the 1940's, button-up with a wrap around tie and a collared neck.  A classic feminine silhouette with emphasis on the waist gives this dress a 40's flair.  Modernized with the heart print, a throw on blazer and a little leopard to spice things up!

  It's funny how the past (fashion) always seems to make its way back to the present.

color blocked

{top: Chloe K (similar style here) skirt: Forever 21 (similar style here) shoes: Bakers clutch: Express (similar style here) nail polish: Love & Beauty 'Neon' (similar style here)

I am holding onto every bit of this last warm weather I can get, I have refused to succumb to darker shaded nail polish; matter of fact, I have been been wearing a bright neon color for the past two weeks!  Many have asked about this particular nail color, so I have included a link to a polish that is just as fab as the one I am wearing.  I can't seem to let go just yet, so brighter shades and pieces have kept the summer season in the back of my mind.

Regardless, of the angry glare, it was merely just the sun shining so bright!

pewter & gold

{skirt: Forever 21 (similar style here) top: Forever 21 (similar style here) necklace: Aldo (similar style here) shoes: Aldo 'Bagnall' sunglasses: H&M (similar style here) clutch: Love, Cortnie}

Nothing reminds you more of fall than the turning of the leaves and leaves laying alongside the streets, as the warmer weather slowly fades, I have been actively partaking in the sunny side temps before they are completely gone.

I have always preferred gold over silver, but I find myself incorporating more of the lighter metallic shade into my wardrobe and why not begin with mixing it up with a little gold!

If you follow me on Twitter, I mentioned last week that I scored a new pair of penny loafer heels, love at first sight! Such a versatile shoe that I am positive I will be getting great use out of these.  I wasted no time putting them to work.

Again, how lucky am I to have a sister that designs clutches? The 'Karen' clutch is named after my mother.  I just can't get enough of them!

New to my blog: as you may notice where I list my credits, I have began including links to either a similar style of what I am wearing or the exact thing, so happy shopping!

tiers + hardware metal

{dress: Forever 21 jacket: unknown shoes: Aldo clutch: Love, Cortnie}

It's always fun to play with different shapes; such as, this tiered angular dress paired with a cropped olive jacket and pairing masculine with feminine pieces.  The hardware metal detailing on the shoes are a great offset to a more playful yet feminine silhouette.

As I have repeatedly mentioned, I am the type of person when I find an item that I really love, I buy in multiple colors.  So it comes as no surprise that I have this dress in yet another color, seen here.

My 'Betty' clutch, another one of my sister's designs, shop here.

monochromatic

{sweater and skirt: H&M shoes: Aldo necklace: Express}

Creating a look in all one tone has been another fun look I have been trying to pull off.  Mixing the shades, textures and prints helps create a monotone look without looking "washed out."  I kept it simple so the gray would be the main attraction.

unlikely match

{blazer: H&M skirt: Forever 21 shoes: Bakers watch: Michael Kors}
I'm starting to notice more frequent when dressing is going for something that slightly does not particularly match with one another.  I have a huge penchant for pairing the unlikeliest of items together, this is sort of becoming my go-to.  I love challenging myself to pull a look together that I would not normally match with one another.  Exciting yet very intriguing!

something borrowed

{bandeau and necklace: Express skirt: borrowed shoes: Bakers}

Everything in the past always seems to make it's way back to the present in some shape or form.  This skirt is actually my Mom's! Fashion from the past is just as fabulous today as it was then, crazy, right? To keep with the "playful" vibe of the patterned skirt, I chose a vibrant pink shoe over a simple black pair, for someone who normally strays from colorful items, I sure did give in this time!

floral + leopard

{tank, hair beret and shorts: Forever 21 blazer: H&M shoes: Aldo clutch: Love, Cortnie}

One thing I am excited about for fall is being able to layer my outfit; other than that, hold the cold weather, I am not a fan!

New to my closet, this leopard clutch, designed by my sister Cortnie named none other than, 'The Ashleigh' (after me!).  My sister has taken her creative side to the next level with her first line of clutches Love, Cortnie named after members of our family.  I love anything leopard, so this clutch suits me well and goes with anything (being that I love to mix and match)!
